Historical Fiction Bestsellers: Week of Jan. 12

The following titles are shown in order of appearance from
USA Today's Top 150:

  11/22/63  War Horse

Water for Elephants  Death Comes to Pemberley  The Winter Sea

Clockwork Prince  The Duke Is Mine  Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Sarah’s Key  The Night Circus  The Paris Wife: A Novel

Once Upon a Winter’s Eve  Sunrise with a Notorious Lord  The Land of Painted Caves

These are the books I consider to fall under the large umbrella of the historical fiction genre. Fifteen books out of 150. That's two less than last week, and still down from the impressive genre presence of twenty in the top 150 thirteen weeks ago.

As always, write for yourself, but it never hurts to keep an eye on what's selling in today's market, and to take a look at what these authors are doing right!
