Historical Fiction Bestsellers: Week of Jan. 19

The following titles are shown in order of appearance from
USA Today's Top 150:

  11/22/63  War Horse

Water for Elephants  Death Comes to Pemberley  Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Sarah’s Key  Clockwork Prince  The Night Circus

The Duke Is Mine  The Paris Wife: A Novel  The Great Gatsby

To Kill a Mockingbird  The Complete Sherlock Holmes & Tales of Terror and Mystery

These are the books I consider to fall under the large umbrella of the historical fiction genre. Fourteen books out of 150. That's one less than last week, and still down from the impressive genre presence of twenty in the top 150 fourteen weeks ago. A lot of familiar covers from past weeks, but we've got some classics making an appearance this week, too!

As always, write for yourself, but it never hurts to keep an eye on what's selling in today's market, and to take a look at what these authors are doing right!
