Historical Fiction Bestsellers: Week of July 19

The following titles are shown in order of appearance from
USA Today's Top 150:

Shadow of Night  The Chaperone  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

The Night Circus  The Great Gatsby  The Help

The Prisoner of Heaven  To Kill a Mockingbird  Beautiful Ruins

The Book Thief  Rules of Civility  The Catcher in the Rye

Twelve titles, one more than last week. Two brand new historical fiction releases make the list, with Shadow of Night debuting at number #4! It's a time travel, and it's predecessor, A Discovery of Witches is also on the list, but it's not historical fiction. (It's also on my list of the most overrated titles of 2011.) The Chaperone is next up at #21, and Abe's at #24 this week. At #33 is one of my favorite titles of 2011, The Night Circus, and the other new release, The Prisoner of Heaven comes in at #86.

Four classics on the list, and for the second week in a row, no historical romances!

Good news: Five self-pubbed titles on the list this week!
Bad news: Three of them are about BDSM billionaire bosses.
