Historical Fiction Bestsellers: Week of August 2

The following titles are shown in order of appearance from
USA Today's Top 150:

Shadow of Night  11/22/63  The Night Circus

An Unsuitable Bride  Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter  To Kill a Mockingbird

The Great Gatsby  A Gentleman Says 'I Do'  The Help

The Catcher in the Rye  The Book Thief  The Sandcastle Girls

Beautiful Ruins  Rules of Civility  Her Sudden Groom

Of Mice and Men

Sixteen titles in the top 150! The best week histfic has had in quite some time. Historical romances are back on the list, as is Stephen King's alternate history, which came roaring back with its paperback release. And a record high since I've been keeping track: eleven self-pubbed titles have the honor of calling themselves bestsellers this week.
